Every year we hold a blind dingy race. The captain is blindfolded and a navagator gives directions. We have 4 different checkpoints in which to check into. Over 20 years of doing this with no mishaps.....unless you count the party afterward

This sounds like a ton of fun. When I first read the caption, however, I was expecting row boats rather than small outboards. It does seem a bit dodgy giving a "powerboat" to a blindfolded skipper (albeit a tiny powerboat). Maybe that's where the fun lies...

I suspect in some cases the captain's performance might even be improved by the blindfold.

I like the pic where the navigator is pointing to where the "blind" captain should go.:D

Don't laugh, it happens. My wife did that the first time. She was looking forward an pointing and everyone on shore was laughing, then she realized the error in her ways when I yelled "Which Way ?????" We then moved on to left and right and which way she was setting.
We had a lot of fun with that game.
Trust me, it's a fun contest when you have to go around a bunch of fender buoys in the water, speed is the last thing you want to try.

I could picture Don S navigating the treacherous waters blindfolded, but sasto do that would be just plain scary!

nah....they let me go without a blindfold or navigator. I came in 6th place.......out of 7!

It is always a fun event with plenty of vittles on the table afterward. The winner recieves a boody prize. Actually a booby hat.
