Hello. I have a 96 maxum with a 4.3 merc. I noticed yesterday my blower bilge pump and courtosy lights do not work. When I turn on any of those swithces my fuel gauge goes from Full to Empty. Any Ideas? Thanks
It sounds like a bad ground for those circuits and they are going through the fuel gauge sending unit to get it (unsuccessfully, of course). Check the ground wires for the blower and lights.
Times 2 on the ground. Check under the helm for a ground bus, as well as in the bilge area. Chances are, that's where your blower motor picks up it's ground...
