Hi All,

I am the new owner of a Crownline 18ss with the 4.3l merc.
I was just getting familiar with the engine compartment, and I noticed that one of the 2 black blower hoses was just laying there. Must have fallen from the vent.

First, I want to make sure that both black hoses from the blower attached to the vent. ( the other vent has none as I asume that is for air to come into engine comaprtment).

Second, it looks like the hoses are just shoved up into the vent, and are easy to pull out. does anyone use anything to secure them? seams kind of cheap craftsmanship for not a cheap boat.

Thanks.

Try using zip-ties... or run a small screw into scoop housing behind one of the wires. Hope this helps. Give us some pics of the backside of the vent housing for the best advise.

All the blowers I've ever seen have a round connection for the hose. How about a Hose Clamp??

You should be able to shove enough hose material into the housing to get it to hold itself up. The metal wire inside the ducting will spring out on the inside of the housing to provide the pressure.

Ah, yes jammed into the VENT, not Blower. My oversight. Though......mine have hose clamps there too. Mine has hose clamps connecting the intake hose to the blower. output hose to the blower and output hose to the vent.

thanks all.
yep, was talking about vent end.
metal wire was not "springy"enougt to hold it up in vent.
a couple of zip ties and presto, no problem.
