Is there such a thing as a remote for a blower. It would be great to start the blower from , let's say the Bar stool.

Thanks!

Re: Blower Remote

Install a universal remote car starter.
With a delay timer added in so that the blower runs for x seconds before it starts.

Any auto store can get you remote accessory kit, hook the blower to it. You still need to sniff though.

Not a bad idea at all but wouldn't it be even smarter to be able to turn the blower off from the bar stool (ie similar to the 19th hole). When you come up with the blower remote, start thinking about the washdown remote, that is really of interest to me plus it would help reduce the work load for the admiral and kids LOL.

Re: Blower Remote

Thanks Guys. The reason I would like one is It says let the Blower run for four minutes before starting the engine and I am always having to leave before the 'Group' to make sure I get the 4 minutes in before we leave the dock. With the remote, I would not miss out when sombody says, " I will buy one last round". :D

Gee, I turn the blower on first thing. By the time I get everyone on board and seated, and sort out the stuff that needs to be stowed and organized, the four minutes have passed and the motor is just about warmed up.

Agreed, I think you need to look at your sequence.

Blower
people gear etc on board
sniff
start
pull lines
idle out of slip
Stow fenders
go when you clear no wake...

Re: Blower Remote

well maybe I'm not cool enough but needing to start your boat from a barstool just bugs me..... I think one less drink while running the boat may be a good thing..... can't spare a couple minutes to ready the boat before departing? 4 minutes is not long.... if boating were that much of a frantic experience I wouldn't enjoy it any more....

Just leave your engine hatch open while you're at the bar. No need for the blower. Just start, close hatch, you're on your way.

Re: Blower Remote

Don't have any better advice, but I think it's a cool idea.

I'm wondering if you could use a remote starter set up that has a delay in it for diesels?

My remote starter for my truck turns on the ignition for 30 seconds or so and then starts the truck. Lets' the glow plugs cycle. Wondering if you could do the same with a longer delay. Then your boat can be running when you get to it.

And I swear I get more use out of the remote starter in the summer to cool the truck off, then I do in the winter to warm it up.
