All,
The boat was running better than it ever has and we were running at 4k RPM, and then a loud pop and a loud ticking noise from the starboard side of the motor. There were no obvious signs of a cracked metal or anything else, but there was significant exhaust fumes and pressured air coming out between the front and next cylinder. I'll have to check it out in daylight tomorrow, since I limped back to the dock at dusk. (Oil pressure and temp both stayed good). I'm 99% sure I blew out the gasket (dealt with cars with exhaust leaks/ticking) , anyone got any tips?
