This is just background, the motor is made up from a '76 and '77. The '76 had bad powerhead and the '77 had a corroded solid leg. Salt water does that. I replaced the impeller when I put them together. From the looks of the impeller, I had a guess as to why the powerhead went bad,. After much pushing wire around the pee hole in the block, I had good flow even at idle. These are not easy motors to flush. We went travelling last summer so I didn't use the boat and motor, but hoped to get out this spring. Lakes only, I don't use it on the ocean. If I rev her a little in the barrel I got flow. Bearly ran it though.
