I went to replace my old propsaver with a new one and raised and lowered the motor a few times. I then look in the fuel/battery compatment and see a small pool of a blue liquid. Hydrallics? It was the only thing that I used on the boat/

Re: Blue fluid

Not an expert nor am a famiar with your boat, but the trim/tilt (power) fluid on mine is "blue".

Re: Blue fluid

pretty much every fluid in a boat can be blue. (hydraulics, lower unit, and 2 stroke oil all are often blue) From the location I'd agree, 2 stroke oil.

Re: Blue fluid

If you have a VRO system and the oil storage tank is engine mounted, a leaking fill cap will allow oil (from a full/near full tank) to leak out while the engine is at/near the top of it's tilt range. This oil then dribbles into the front of the cowl and upon vertically positioning of the engine, can dribble out into the rear compartment of the boat. BTDT

O could be a leaking hose if the tank is boat mounted.

I don't have hydraulic steering so I have no idea as to what color that oil is.

Re: Blue fluid

thanks guys...I am going to get the motor serviced before I take it out and will have them look at it as I am not a motor guy. I hope it's nothing more than a gasket or a ring.

Re: Blue fluid

Is it possible that it was from the motor being tilted up as far as it would go and too much oil being in the unit?
