Ok, here is where my question comes in. I have a dual battery setup on a twin engine boat. The way I am going upon wiring it is, Both motors to the same #1 pole on the switch, batter one to the other #1 pole on the switch, House electronics to the #2 pole on the switch and Auto Bilge and Battery #2 wired to the other #2 pole, which would be correct. The Isolater should be ran between the two positive posts on the batteries with fuses on each side, What size fuses? Also there should be a fused wire to ground, then it calls for a fused wire to the started solenoid to key switch wire, So should I just have on coming from each motor, fused seperately but go into the same IS terminal on the isololator? Or does it even make sense to have an isolator on a twin engine setup with only two batteries, or should it be 2 start batteries one for each motor, and a house battery?

Thanks,
Mike Bennett

Running one battery from two engines is not recommended by Yamaha and I would also agree with that. Why?? Because you have two regulators fighting for control of one battery. The proper setup is one start battery for each engine -- period. What you do from there is up to you.

OK, I give up! Where did the OP mention Yamaha engines? Or is this an offshoot from another post somewhere?

for the OP, please let us know what type of engines you have, make, inboard/outboard/IO, etc. Can't really help you until we know that.

You can't hook up the BlueSea 7650 system like that. It's is not a 1.2.Both switch, its designed for a single engine and 2 batteries and has an automatic charge relay with it.
It doesn't matter what type engines you have, you need a seperate starting battery and a switch for each engine. If you ust the 7650, you will need 2 of them, and 3 batteries. Then your house battery will automatically be charged by both engines.
