Hello fellas, I'm back with a bag full of questions.
I got a blues seas automatic charging relay an I'm
Stumped, on 1 hand blue seas says I don't need a battery
Switch them on the other it's recommended.
My thinking is, if its automatic then I don't...
It has a isolation feature. I've look all over this site an online but no
True answer.

So what's the real deal here?

Re: Blue seas automatic charging relay

If all you want to do is charge two batteries, yet keep the starting and house systems separate, then you don't need a battery switch.

BUT (and why they recommend it) if you want to be able to shut off all electricity for maintenance or whatever, without disconnecting the batteries, then the switch is needed. Plus, with the proper dual circuit battery switch, you can use your house battery to start your engine should the start battery fail, just by turning it to combine. Without actually having to juggle the batteries around.

Well thank you sir, an yes all I want it to do is charge both
An if the cranking battery happens to die my boat is small enough
It's no big deal to switch them
