Blue Streak Industries, a division of Halter Marine, once tried their hand at manufacturing aluminum hulled offshore fishing boats in Louisiana. There were, to my knowledge only two Blue Streak sizes; the 28' center console, and a 44' sportfisherman. Halter Marine itself released a 60' and what they called a 63+2'.
The 28' Blue Streak was available with a tuna control tower option, which could be customized to fold back for highway trailering. It was powered by twin Chris Craft Chevrolet 350 engines I/O with Volvo Penta 280 outdrives.
Both Blue Streak and Halter didn't last long in this venture, and there are likely precious few of these boats still around, as only a handful were made.
We had a 28 footer when I was just a boy, and it was an awesome ride. I would love a shot at owning one, and would travel to any part of the US to acquire one for myself, so if anyone knows of one of these rare beauties - whether for sale or not, please let me know!
Thanks!
