Hi! I have a supposedly running, I haven't tried it yet, Sea Bee ser. no. 227231 mod.025-3564. I'd like to know a little more about. Horse power, style water pump, year,etc. Any info would be appreciated.
While I am here , I would certaunly like to know titling requirements for these old motors in Texas. So far I go 'round in circles when asking online.

Many Thanks to all, jaybow:confused::rolleyes:

1948, 5 horsepower twin. Made by Gale Products Divison of OMC. It is a Gale model 2G7. Water pump impeller, properly called a "rotor" is part number 550040. I believe they are still available from Evinrude dealers. Or I get mine from Bryan Wilcox. Google Brian Wilcox impellers.

If two of these come up it is because I touched a button and the first one dissapeared??? Anyhow, I wish to thank F_R for his speedy reply. Good info. :)

To title an older outboard in Tejas you have to make a rubbing of the ID plate that has the model and serial number, put a piece of paper over the plate and then use a pencil to mark over the numbers. Then you have to submit a signed affidavit from the previous owner that says it's never been titled before in Tejas. All the forms are online at the TPWD website. If you can't find the previous owner, you may be hosed...no go. What we need in Tejas is more administrators who make more rules cause they aren't collecting enough fees/taxes to make THEIR boat and caddy payments...NOT!!

Tejas is the original spelling used by the first European explorers/settlers...their version of a native American tribal name...later became Texas as the English language took root. Today, however, with more govt., revenuers, taxes, etc., us geezers are using TAX-us as the more practical synonym...and, yes, secession is still an option. That's todays history lesson in a nutshell.

Hey tmcalavy!! I been busy fightin' with minor functionaries. Haven't been on site. Apologies for not answerin' sooner. Good info and right on the button as to what I'm finding out. After a "minor confrontation with the gal a tag office, in which I reminded her of her position as a public servant ...she has been VERY helpful. Not her fault what TPWD's insane greed leads to. I have gotten the three papers to aquire titles. She took the serial no's I had written down and discovered - "not titled" . Now for $27 a pop I may submit a request, w/ that tracing, etc...and wait!! Progress. I liked your reply to 1946Zephyr. My sentiments. Thank You Very much. jaybow
