Hi I want to install a 36 inch sheakspeare antena on my baylinner cuddy , 1952 model,

whats the best place and way of doing this. Drill holes with a side mount or attach to the windscreen ?

Do the holes have to be made a certain way or kept away from some place

Thanks for the input

Re: boat antenna mount vhf

I didn't know Bayline was in business in 1952.

Those short antennas are very light and if you like you can get away with one of the cheap (and cheap is the word I wanted to use there, not inexpensive) plastic mounts.

In almost all cases you will be better off paying the $25~$30 for a stainless mount and bolting it to the cabin side wall. The increase in strength is worth the little bit of extra money and then when you come to understand that the short antenna was a mistake and toss it in favor of a proper antenna you'll already have the mount you need in place.

Thom
