Where does everybody get their materials from? Do you order on line or do have local sources? I am in North Florida, just south of Jacksonville and need a few sheets of core material. If anyone is familiar with the area, I would like to know where you get your stuff.

Thanks,
Tom

I am re coring the deck on my boat. I need to find a source for Core materials mostly. Either end grain balsa sheets, some sort of marine foam, or even a honey comb I really have not decide which direction I want to go yet. I will of course also need resin and fiber glass tape and the whole nine yards but the difficult thing to find so far is the core materials. I know there is a West Marine in Orange Park, but they typically only carry the resins and tools needed, no core stuff.

Ideally I would like to find either a local boat builder willing to sell me some supplies and of course offer expert advise, or a marine supplier to do the same.

Do you know of such a place? :D

I used to live in Salt Springs, FL which is not too far from you. I used to buy resin and matting from Johnson's Custom Fiberglass in Belleview and also from the boat shop on the corner of 314 and SR40 (the name escapes me). I have bought core material from Piedmont Plastics in Daytona. Hope this helps.

Very true, not many live in or have even heard of the big metropolis of Salt Springs. It is funny you mention it though. A friend of a friend who lives up here in NC was almost my neighbor in Salt Springs. I thought he looked familiar when I met him after moving back to NC. We got to talking and he lived about 1/4 mile from me down there.
