Welcome Josh!

Have you thought to check with your local library for books about boat building?

Happy boating!

These collections of boat plans are all over the internet- Most of them are legit. A lot of them are collections of reprinted plans from old magazines.

What kind of boat are you looking to build? There are a lot of free plans out there... Try here-

There are loads of other sites, too...

For some easy builds, I highly recommend Harold Payson's 'Instant' boat books. They are all smaller boats, from 6' to 18 or so, power/row/sail depending which you choose. I have built one from his book in less than 2 days!

Just remember that you get what you pay for- it's worth buying plans in some cases because you get the support of the designer when you are building!

I have just finished my malahini from glen-l and I had no woodworking skills but for a few model boats and a bit of DIY. You can see my post in boat restoration and building.YOU CAN DOIT .
