I think I might have some oxidation on my graphics area of my white boat. I take very good care of it, even wax/polish it 2-3 times during the season. I just cant seem to brighten up the colored graphics area (see attached pictures). Its very dull, and the wax/polish just doesnt seem to take it off? I think I might have even tried that color restorer, but havent tried the heavy duty oxidation remover.

Does anyone think the heavy oxidation remover will brighten this up? Seems to have just a dull/water spot color to that graphics area, and it sure is frustrating! I want to get it nice and bright like it used to be! Or is this something under the gelcoat that I wont be able to get rid off?

Anyone that is a professional cleaner please help, and let me know how I can brighten this up!

Re: Boat Cleaning

Waxes and polishes don't really make good cleaners, you can try a color restorer or a cleaner wax. If its not that bad they will take care of it with no problem. However I have found if your boat spends a lot of time in the elements no amount of waxing is going to keep it new. At some point it will need a good buff job and the right compounds can be pricey and the cost of the buffer and pads. If you would like the brand new results for about the same price has the right equipment and materials would run have a pro do it for you. And any good detail business will give you a test application to show you the results and it helps them gauge the extent of the job anyway to give you a good price.

Thanks for asking,

Yours isn't that bad, trust me. 3m Color restore/ Wax # 09009 and a good Commercial variable speed buffer. Follow the directions on the bottle exactly and it will look Brand New. "Chuck's Fiberglass" It won't hurt if you get a little on the graphics but tapeing it with masking tape will keep your work uniform. If the graphics are faded you can do them also you just have to decide where you want to break. The hull will blend in. I've done many and a lot worse. I get $450 to do the freeboard on an 18ft boat. One bottle will do a whole freeboard on an 18footer. It's a lot of hard work but worth it.
