boat compatibility with outboard question

have a 87 bayliner trophy 19.6 feet. does anyone know the best way i can find out what shaft size is designed to go on my vessel. And how can i measure my existing shaft on outboard to check compatibility.

Measure from the top of the transom to the keel. If it's for a 20" motor it'll measure about 20 3/4". Same with the outboard. Measure from up under the clamp bracket to the AV plate right above the prop. It'll probably be about 20".
