Boat cover snaps

So my boat cover has snaps on it that it snaps to the boat with. Think a pair of jeans type snaps. A few if the male ends that are on the boat are broken. My question is are snaps all the same size when it comes to these things, or are there 40 different ones and I need to try and fit them. I end sewn to the cover is fine, so I would really rather leave that alone and just replace the ones on the boat.

Thanks!

I am almost positive that all snaps are the same size. Someone else can feel free to correct me but in my experience they have all been the same size. A couple broke on mine as well. the canvas guy said they just wear out. We bought some tailor made ones, screwed them in and also glued them to make sure they don't come loose. Its very easy to fix, simply buy them online or at a marina.

Yeah they're a fairly standard size. The snap studs that go on your boat can have different lenght of screws. You might also want to purchase a kit that comes with a variety of these snaps b/c seems like covers lose snaps like kids lose their baby teeth. The kit that I"m going to link below has the canvas snaps, and snap studs. It also comes with a vice grip style tool that is nice and easy to use compared to the hammer and punch type for repairing snaps on the canvas. Just make sure when you're removing the snap on covers that you don't yank them off b/c you gotta baby these snaps. You can also get some snap stick lubricant which can help. Ironwood pacific makes a top snapper which helps you easily remove and install covers on the snaps. I coudln't find one on iboats to link but they're nice to have.

Make sure your repacements are stainless steel or similar so they don`t rust.

Awesome!! Thanks for the reply's. The ones on my hull are screws, but the three on the bottom of my center windshield (which are the worst ones) are riveted. Figuring I can just drill em out and replace with a screw.
