Re: Boat Cover Support

I've not used one, but for $39.95 it looks like it is worth a go. It looks light weight and easy to use.

If I'd seen it before I went to the work and expense to build mine (see foto) I'd of probably tried it.

Re: Boat Cover Support

Last year I was in need of a cover for the summer so I built a frame out of PVC. It worked well and served it's purpose until I built my boatbarn. But I am thinking a rig like your looking at may not be a bad way to go. In looking at there design thou it would be quite simple to build one and would have went with something simular to theres. But then again I'm a do it yourself kinda guy...If your not just buy one. :)

Re: Boat Cover Support

Our boat had a set of pvc pipe that came with it to support the cover and we continued to use it. It's a cheap solution I'm sorry but i don't have a picture.

Gary, looks like the same exact product, just cheaper. Thanks I may just give this a try. I am staying away from the rigid frames for ease of storage..

Boomyal
Is that a Crestliner Nordic? If so what is the year and length?
Great looking boat. Did you install livewells or icehests in the back deck?

Re: Boat Cover Support

Father in law had one. Strap type with pole in middle, 19' boot. Had his boat at my house, and had a severe rain fall water still collected in back by motor, plastic peice on top of pole broke, once that gave away broke windsheild. If I had smaller boat I would not recomend. you will never get the straps tight enough. I made new plastic peice and evenually I belive it made to the trash can. You will need to add a post in front also if boat is good sized. maybe it would be good for smaller boat.

Re: Boat Cover Support

Boatist, it is a 20' 1975 Gulfstream, mfg'd in Salt Lake City. (now defunct) The wells, in the back deck, are just general purpose storage. They are not insulated.

I bought the boat new and chose it for it's lack of vinyl paneling. It's unrestored appearance, 29 years later, bears out the wisdom of that decision. (seat vinyl was replaced 8 years ago)

You can follow my floor repair project here:
Gulfstream Floor Project
