Re: Boat Cover

Cabela's sells a "Tarpaulin Boat Storage Cover" that is as waterproof as plastic and cheap too, but they only last one season.

Re: Boat Cover

The reason i asked about being waterproof is last winter we got 45 days of straight rain.
JB There is a big difference in price between the sharkskin and sunbrella.I will have to look into it .
jevery i need something that can be remove as needed

Re: Boat Cover

Get yourself a good cover.

Then pick up one of the super heavy duty plastic tarps for $40, and put it over the top of the cover.

Re: Boat Cover

The Tarpaulin cover from Cabela's can be removed and reapplied like any other cover. It's basically just a nylon reinforced plastic cover cut to fit a variety of boat designs. As you know fabric covers, even good water repellent covers, leak where they contact something like a windshield or a tent pole. If my boat is going to sit for more than a week or so I throw the Tarpaulin cover over my Outdura cover to prevent any leakage. I'm not familiar with sharkskin though. Is it waterproof like vinyl or somewhat porus like fabric? It might be a better choice when I need to replace covers.
