Boat covers & canopies DIY

I'm wondering where (suppliers) one can obtain either similar replacement material as I have with an older doral 17' . I'd like to rebuild or remake a canopy/cover using the old one as a pattern including fabricating zip in side windows. The old one has two zippers which allow access to the boat from the cowl and goes over the entire cabin to come down over the rear and snaps over the splashwall with a window in the rear. Can this be done with moderate expense. Given the new fabrics these days possibly the newer types are more easily sewn and are more easily worked with as well as possibly more durable or at least as good as the original material. Where does one purchase material in bulk for a task such as this?
