Hey all,
I’m looking to get a new boat cover for a 2009 Tahoe Q5i SF. I am looking for somewhat of a custom cover that is tight enough that rain would roll off without the need of a support pole and , if possible that same cover could be used for trailering. Curious for suggestions on vendors, experiences , etc.

Thanks

Pretty sure mine is a Taylor Made cover, Sunbrella fabric - ordered a couple years back through Iboats. Includes strap kit. I added support poles as no matter how much you tighten down the straps, the fabric will stretch and you will end up with ponding without support poles in place. It's trailerable and I have used it in that fashion several times.

Pretty much all covers I've had experience with require some sort of support under them to prevent ponding - it pretty much goes with the territory.

I'd suggest using the cover finder on iboats website and pick/chose from there. Don't forget your 5% forum discount.

I havent found a boat cover that ever survived trailering. including sunbrella trailerable covers. they all flap and balloon and beat the boat to death at 70mph

IBoats sells Carver Covers. They make generic, semi-custom and custom covers. Check it out - maybe they have a custom cover for your actual model.

I'm on my 3rd Carver (3 different boats) and they have outperformed any other cover I ever had. The only cover I ever had that DIDN'T need a support pole or 2 is my current Whaler. But in that case proper positioning the helm seat works even better than a pole.

I started trailering on long distance vacations in 1986. Haven't damaged a cover yet. Of course, I keep it at 65 mph. Maybe that makes a difference.
