Press Release | April 19, 2002
United States
Lewisville, Texas-based boat dealer DFW Boats reported in early April that it sold 20 boats in February as a direct result of leads from its website, www.dfwboats.com.
The company attributed this record month to its advertising agreement with iboats.com, signed in January, and said that March produced similar results.
This corresponds with what iboats.com reported was its highest traffic month.
There were over 1 million user sessions in February on the iboats network of sites and the average user stayed for 12 minutes and 15 seconds, according to the company. (See BIIOnline article iboats.com sets record in February.)
Record boat views
The boat dealer also recently hit another milestone, said iboats.com President and CEO Bruno Vassel III, on Thursday, 18 April.
On Monday, 15 April, the dealer's website received over 1,000 "boat views" — defined as whenever a potential customer clicks on an individual boat that is listed within a dealer's website.
Part of their secret to success is that they had 90 boats listed on their website that day, whereas many dealers only post a handful, he explained.
