I have a taylor made orange fender ball for pulling up my anchor and the plug has stripped out on the head. Is there replacement plugs for these or do you have to buy a whole new fender ball...i'd hate to think they don't have replacemtents and i have to buy a 40 dollar ball just cause that POS plastic plug stripped.

You can contact Taylor Made directly at 518-773-9304. Ask for customer service and see if they can help you out. I do work at their factory from time to time, and they seem like good folks. Give it a try, and let me know how you make out.

I'm pretty sure Taylor Made has a lifetime warranty on their fenders for that sort of failure. I'd take it back to a dealer that sells them... I returned a few several years ago that had splits in them - first time I'd ever had new fenders on my boat, as every other fender was acquired through the generosity of other boaters who failed to pull them in while underway...

What is it thats broken?? I thought that boat fenders were just the plastic or rubber things that keep the boat from beating up against the dock. I havent heard of anything that has a ball or that is threaded. Im jsut curious as to what it is you have. Ive never used fenders on my boat but i do have a SS rack that i dont use. I didnt know what it was at first but it is supposed to hold a couple of those plastic fenders. At first i thought it was for oxygen tanks or something but my buddie told me what it was for. Im a dummy sometimes! See ya. Ohh and if you forgot dont be too late for the lake or it might be gone when you get there!!!!

this. these are used in the Fl Keys, on the protected reefs, for divers, snorkelers, to moor their boat while in the water. using personal anchors is prohibited, as the tear up the reefs.

actually, he's talking about pulling his anchor. when you're anchoring deep, it can take a long time to pull by hand or with windlass. the mooring ball floats and has a ring attached, where you run your anchor rode through. when you are ready to pull, you simply pull ahead and over the anchor and keep driving. the anchor rode follows and starts to work it's way through the mooring ball, pulling the anchor up. when the anchor reaches the ball, you turn around and retrieve the rode, which now has no weight on it. finally, you retrieve the anchor and ball.
