Boat Has sat up for over a year....

Bought a 87 Four Winns Cruiser, boat sat on dealers back lot excess of a year, took it home cleaned it up, painted etc. dealer has rebuilt 5.7 GM engine and Alpha 1 outdrive, waiting for them to wrap that up and fire it up is there anything else to look for or have em check before I gas it up and launch it....ie electrical, hoses etc..engine has new heads manifolds risers elbows etc, (cooling sysytem ) all brand new

I would be concerned about the fuel...any gas that was in the tank is likely turning to varnish, and probably has a fair amount of gunk and water in it. <br />If it were mine I would empty the tank as completly as I could, add a few gallons to rinse, empty that, add whatever # of cans of dry gas and/or your favorite fuel conditioner were called for based on size of tank and refill it with fresh fuel.<br />Then comes the problem of what to do with the old fuel.....

I would also check the oil condition and level in all the gear boxes. Change them if need be. These get overlooked a lot. They can harbor water in the gear cases, and blow the gears before you'd know it; especially the lower gear case which is underwater most of the time.
