Re: boat hauling

if he's going to load , unload, insure, and block it, i see no problem. remember he's paying for equipment, labor, insurance and gas. overhead is huge in that type business.

Re: boat hauling

What size truck is he using. Does the 80 to 100 miles include getting to the boat, getting the boat to your house, and getting back to where he started? Is he hiring any help?

Re: boat hauling

if r. would keep his post together, you would know he has no trailer, and has been trying to restore in the marina, now moving it home to continue work. a 31 footer is a lot to handle alone.

Re: boat hauling

use the same post, that way we get the history and can answer you question with more intelligent answers. if you had add this to the post about blocking, there is the history. you can always edit you title, and leave the rest.

Re: boat hauling

Question - how much would a trailer that would fit your boat cost? You are looking at almost $3000 to get it hauled both ways. Even if you don't have a tow vehicle, I would think that the transport cost would be much less if they just had to hook your trailer up to their hitch and park it in your yard.

-JMW

Re: boat hauling

I wouldn't want to be trucking down the highway with the bow of a 31 footer staring at me in the rear view mirror.

Plus doubt that you could find a decent trailer to haul it for the cost of the mover and he is assuming all the responsibility.

Spend the money.

Mark

Re: boat hauling

don't hire clarks haulers in toms river, he told me i had to remove flybridge, which i did. dave at all aboard said i didn't have to. to late could have saved a lot of work took two days to remove.also wanted 1400 for trip dave charged 550. people like clark should not get anyones business. wish i had called dave sooner. thanks
