Hello,This is not a motor question ,but with all the boaters out there there should be a few people to answer this,,From the water line down under the boat is rough almost like a light grid sand paper,i think its water deposit (it was like this when i bought the boat)this is a fiberglass boat.It is very hard to scrub off with a brush,,,What can i use to remove this? Any help would be helpful. Thanks

Moving to Boats.

If you know it isn't a Johnson or Evinrude engine trouble, why in the devil did you put it there??

You could have saved me about 5 minutes by putting it in Boats in the first place.

Kelly1....You can buy this stuff called ON/OFF at any marine store, I think it only comes in 1 gallon jugs, but anyway it is some kind of acid and it will take anything off of a boat bottom. It is safe for fiberglass so don't worry. Also you could try using a power washer, I use one every end of the season and also in the spring before I paint the bottom.

Walmart or Academy sells a solution called HULL CLEANER $6.99 a bottle with a $1.00 rebate just dampen a sponge with this stuff and wipe it on the fist time on a badly oxidizided boat it may take a few applications. But useing after every few trips it takes minimal solution, a bottle lasts me a season.

Use the on-off or Barnacle cleaner. It will let you know immediately if what you are reffering to can be cleaned .WEAR RUBBER GLOVES AND COVER YOUR FACE.This stuff is acid so dont get it on you and make sure you rinse it well. Charlie

Yep, Mary-Kate's On-Off will take care of it if it can be cleaned. You sure the bottom wasn't painted before?
