I am considering selling my Ranger 495V for a 1998 Ranger 692VS walleye edition deep-v. This is a fiberglass walleye boat, 20', full glass windshield, loaded with electronics. It has a 98' Johnson 175Ficht and a Johnson 9.9 kicker. Anybody have any experience with this boat? How is this engine? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The 692 is a heavy boat. Good ride, need a truck to get it on the trailer at a steep landing. the motors are good some problem with power head on the 175 but rare.

Yeah, I know it's a heavy one, but actually my current Ranger is a few pounds heavier.(probably because it's got an I/O in it) I'm not really worried about that, I trust the boat and the manufacturer, I just have no experience with the johnson's. I'm looking at a 99' also with a 225 Merc optimax and a 15hp 4 stroke kicker. Which would you say is the better motor, besides the horsepower factor?
