The lake is unlikely to freeze here so no winter storage for mine. Temperatures do get below freezing so I make sure I drain what I can at the ramp and park it at home with the engine vertical. Finding shad for bait can be a challenge but I think the best time to catch blue catfish is during the winter months.
The absolute best thing is the lack of other boats on the water for the next few months. Inboard motors are already disappearing as they get winterized. The rest will be gone in about a month. Only those fishing will remain.
