what is the life of a hydraulic aluminum boat lift?

We are looking at lifts that are 4-5 years old and wonder how much "life" is left. Becuz boat is heavy (4300 lbs) we need a 6000 lb lift and these are expensive. The lift will be in fresh water lake and taken out end of every season.

Thx for any advice on topic of lifts ...

Check out Reiman & Georger (sp...?) lifts. I have one w/ 3600 capacity, and they make much larger. Very strong, lots of options/accessories and very popular in fresh water upstate NYS.

My fathers electrical aluminum lift is 15 years old and looks brand new still. Only thing he changed once is the bumpers.

As for hydraulics aluminum I don't know. But I'm betting just as long since this is what I bough for next summer!
