Hi All,

I am looking for a system that will not only make an intruder think twice about breaking into my boat, but also notify me or the marina security if they do step foot inside.

I have an older Sea Ray 245 Sundancer, and this is my first boat. I just spent a lot of cabbage having the engine replaced, and now I have found out someone kicked my door down and entered the boat yesterday. So far my boating experience has been sucky. It has my family on pins and needles just about everytime we head to the marina where our wet slip is. I sometimes think to my self what keeps a thief or a vandal from just untying the boats and let them float out:confused:?? Ugghh....

My question is this...what would you guys suggest as far as a burgalar/monitoring security system? I looked at this one called "Boat Nanny" and it looks really cool. Remember...you can't put a price on a piece of mind.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Boat Monitoring and Security System???

I put a house battery op door alarm on the cabin door, an a jury rigged red batt op blinking light on the dash on my big boat.
Really not much ya can do but there is stuff out there, and don't feel you are alone.
We have cameras our marina, but its rural, private, and really means nothing to punks at 3am...

Best advice I can give (I'm new to the wet slip, but not new to boating) is to Get some canvas bags, and take everything of value with you on and off the boat. Leave the cabin door unlocked, heck even open if you have a cover, and that way, hopefully if they do enter, they won't do any damage. This is easy for me as I have dockside parking, and old boat, and can load/unload in a few trips down the dock.

Hmm..
Thats a way, , but took me 2 hours to pull stuff out on the 25 footer as its for sale. Giving in, is giving up..not picking here, but things will get worse in this country. Glad I'm heading "Sunset" years...ready to just move a little farther back in the mountains...
