i am new to iboats and this is my first post.

i have a situation and i am looking for advice:

i have a 2000 90 johnson on a 17 ft wellcraft tri-hull. i am pulling the motor off this weekend and putting it on my 2000 18 cc hydra sports. i read on hydra sports website, this boat is offered with a 90 or 115. to my knowledge the only diff in a 90 and 115 is the carbs. i would like to know if anyone has this combination (a 90 hp on a 18 cc hydra sports) or if anyone has any helpful info they are willing to share. will this motor be working too hard or should i not be worried and give it a shot?
i also have 2 ss props, a 17 and 19 pitch.

thanks, ryan

Agreed. The 90 will be fine. Theres more to the differences but on that boat you'll not notice them. Max out the set up and prop. Depending on brand / style / shape those props will get you going. Keep us posted on the progress and we'll help you dial it in.

If you didn't kill it on the tri-hull, the HS will be a welcome relief for the motor.

Prop it to run 5800 with a light load. It will perform nicely with any other loads, after that.
