I bought a 1988 Ranger with no motor, 140 hp 1981 Johnson motor, have successfully installed motor and got most controls working. The Shifter/Throttle control has a 3 wire cable coming out of it with red, black and purple wires coming out of it. With the ignition switch on the purple wire has positive 12 volts on it, the others do not. Where or what do the wires connect to?
