Is there such a thing as a "proper" or conventional place/size of lettering for the name of the boat - i.e. the transom, starboard towards stern, port towards stern, etc.
It used to be the name was always on the transom. Nowadays, I see quite a few on both the port and starboard sides (never just on one side). I think any is fine.
