Boat on wheel dollies

I have 3 car garage, one double door and a single as well as fenced storage on the side of my house. I can store the boat on the side in the summer months, but it gets pretty cold here in the winter months, my thought is to back the boat in through the double door, put it up on wheel dollies and slide it over to the single car side (door is probably too narrow for most boats), I have enough depth in the garage on that side.

Sound like a decent plan? Am I missing anything, or are the wheel dollies a bad idea? Could I leave the boat on the wheel dollies or should I take them out while being stored?

I think it's a great idea if your single door is to narrow. Add a jack with a wheel to the front if you dont have one and you ought to be able to manuver that thing how ever you want. Usually the biggest issue is length on a standard garage, but if you have that go for it.

there are numerous 3 wheel dollies made that you can put under the tires, great idea, then put jack stands under the trailer to relieve weight, or just set back on tires.

depending on the type of dollies you get you probably could leave it on the dollies all winter. (less messing around).

Thanks for affirming I wasn't barking up the wrong tree.

We just came back from looking at the boat that I really like Four Winns H190 with a double axle trailer. I think getting a couple heavy duty dollies would work, then use the tongue jack to raise the rear end on a set of blocks and slide them out during storage.

Wise one if you have a harbor freight nearby they carry those samew dollies like you linked to . They go onsale all the time for like $35.00 per pair I have a set and they work pretty good.
