Hi, I am a newbie here. I am having a balance problem with my boat it is a 89 spectrum 1700 with 85HP outboard. Here is my problem. when I running top speed on a lake and the boat when of balance when there is a slight moment of people on the boat. When i go straigt, the port side of the boat is much lower then the other side. so i have to ask the passenger to move to the other side it gets batter. then I have to move my butt toward the center of the boat in order to balance it out completly. I wonder what is wrong. If there is nothing wrong is there and thing i can add to the boat to help balancing it out when going to speed? by the way, my boat is a deep V.

If all you have is a balance problem then trim tabs are probably the answer.
There are alot of kinds, I have Bennett and like them very much. I hear Smart Tabs are good too although I have never used them. I like to be able to adjust them me self.
Smart tabs flaten out at high speed when you will need them most. Ones you adjust you can trim one down to compensate for some one of larger size on one side.

You not alone, my 20'er will run lopsided too unless weight is evenly distributed, I have smart tabs an they definately keep me on plane at a lower speed but I still have balance the weight evenly.

OK, so it is normal then, just want to be sure, don't want to sink the boat :). I will use it as it is then.

Oh it's normal alright, my little 16' v hull even with just me on board I'll sometimes move toward the center, I have a kicker motor on one side that offsets the batteries on the other, then my weight at the helm will causes a slight list at planing speed.
