I know there is a place here on iboats that has owners manuals in PDF but for the life of me I can't remember where I found them before. I am looking for a 1989 Larson Bowrider manual. If someone could point me in the right direction I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks

Go to the Larson Boat Co. on the net and there is a place there that you can get a manual from them.

Re: Boat owners manuals

I asked them last year for a manual for my '97 Larson bowrider and they didn't have any. They did send me an link to a current manual in electronic format, which was somewhat helpful. I'm looking, without success for that link. I'll post it if I can find it.

Re: Boat owners manuals

Owners manuals are generally next to useless since they do not have any technical information about the engine or the boat. They do contain a ton of safety information but little about the boat itself. If you are looking for maintenance information, you need a "Service Manual" for your specific engine (or engine and drive if an inboard or I/O).

Yes, for some reason, boat manufacturers do not tend to produce comprehensive owner's manuals like the automobile companies do. So, something meaningful may not even exist.

Your best bet is to get the engine service manual, which is what you may have been referring to as being available on iBoats. Much of the boat's electrical system is based on the engine, and those manuals usually are fairly comprehensive.

Re: Boat owners manuals

As a new boat owner, I found some value in the Larson manual, even though it didn't exactly match my boat. (Although it was about 97% safety warnings, but even that's helpful to a new boater.) It did explain how some of the switches work, which was useful. I got an owner's manual from Mercruiser for my engine/outdrive, though, and that has been invaluable. It didn't cost much, but has been worth every penny.
