bought a nice proline flats boat at auction, drug repo,The marine patrol used it for alittle while and took the motor off and auction it off.Paint job is great, but it's that marine gray, want to paint white.Should I prime the gray than paint white?or should I sand the gray than paint white?just looking to get extra input.I still have the mako to use ,but this is the boat I have been looking for, goes in 6-inch's of water, looks like a stealth bomber.Coach!

Sand first, then wipe down with thinner or solvent to clean, then paint.

But above all follow the directions on the can of the paint you use, the manufacturer is usually pretty precise about what they recommend.

Note that if the original paint is in good shape you'll want to use a good quality paint to go over it, it's pretty easy to make a decent factory job look worse by covering it with a cheap paint.
