boat porpoising to portside..trim tab issue?

16' invader '89 merc inline 4, 3 litre. just overhauled lower unit. new impeller, prop, and trim tab but boat has always leaned to the left. i think i used the correct terminology :) the trim tab doesnt want to go on straight ahead. is this correct or do i have other issues? thx for everything!

The trim tab on the lower unit is more about helping the boat track straight by countering the prop torque. I'm not familiar with your boat but some are more susceptible to load variations than others. If the helm is on the left and you’re operating the boat alone than its very likely that you have a weight distribution problem. If you’re unable to move things around in the boat and there are no other issues with the hull itself than you can fix the problem with a set of smart tabs. Search this forum or google 'smart tabs'.
