Spun prop hub? Spun Coupler? other? 96 5.7 LX with Alpha 1 Gen II turning a 19 pitch alum prop. Out last night with a boat load of Wakeboaders (read heavy load) all is going well. When on the ill fated run the rider is up, the boat is on plane and pulling well, all of a sudden BANG, the boat shudders and falls off plane, the engine picks up RPM and the rider goes down. I throttle down, pull it into natural, all sounds normal at this time. I put it in gear, slowly apply throttle the boat moves forward until around 1200 RPM when the engine RPM begins to climb with no apparent effect on speed or thrust. By the time we get the boat back on the trailer its too dark and late to trouble shoot the problem. But after work today I will figure out just what the fook happened. Any guesses, bets, or premonitions out there? What do you see in my future with this boat?
