I'm going to renovate the front of my 1988 Hurricane Deckboat to make it more fishing friendly for me. What I will want to do after the deck is made is to install an electric trolling motor but I'm not sure where to mount the motor due to the nature of the front of the bow. Any suggestions would be helpful. I've added a couple of pictures. The first one is what the bow looks like now and the second is what I have envisioned it to look like after I complete the transformation. Will the motor have to be installed in line with the boat on one of the sides or does it have to be mounted so it hangs over the center beam? I understand that I will have to make an adapter to raise up the motor mount to allow clearance over the front rail and such too.
