The moderators don't like multiple posts for one project.
A newcomer might want to follow your project as it progresses and get lost.

Sorry, but you are mistaken. Moderator's have plenty to do and chasing threads that are scattered is not one of them.

Making statements such as the one above "oh just keep looking, you have nothing else to do" are considered to be restoration suicide. People will stop helping and lending advice. You pick which thread you want to continue with, add to it and the other thread will be closed.
