1988 Sea Ray Seville 20ft Cuddy Cabin.

Sank in salt water, submerged 24 hrs.

What do I need to replace electrics wise?

I know I need: (mechanic says they are done)

Alternator (considering this alternator: http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfind...&gd_poid=111927&gd_row=9&**********=920910042)

Starter
batteries
battery selector switch
radio, speakers

What else? (if anything, for precaution)
? spark plugs
distributor
spark plug wires
??

The engine was pickled.

I am also certain some salt water got in the gas tank via the overflow. Any ideas here?

I say walk away from that boat- going to be a bugger and will typically always have some sort of electrical or runability 'gremlins'.

If you NEED to have a project boat then I say change over ALL wiring, ALL electronics, flush fuel tank, plugs/wires/distributor IMMEDIATELY. Basically anything and everything that touched salt water.

Agreed ... all electronics, wiring, etc. should be replaced. You will have more headaches than you know what to do with. Basically gut it and start from scratch with the fiberglass shell.

After 24 hours your engine is likely full of salt water too. You can probably use it for an anchor.
