Re: boat schematic

You can download some owners manuals at Bayliner Customer Care there is a link to owners manuals at the top of the page. You didn't give a year, so it makes it a bit difficult as the model numbers can stay the same, but the boats change. Just like cars.

Also, much of the wiring is based on the engine . . . So, if you get the wiring diagram from the engine manual, you will pretty much have it, except for the nav. lights, etc.

Re: boat schematic

Boats have two electrical systems, not just one. Actually they have three if they also have shore power systems. The engine and drive are documented in the Volvo/Penta "Service" manual. Owners manuals generally contain very little detail. The drive electrical system includes the wiring associated with the engine and the controls at the helm. Any sender signals from the engine (such as oil pressure, temperature, and trim) would be included in those diagrams. However the gauges, lights, bilge pump, live wells, and all the "boat" related stuff are covered in the wiring diagrams for the boat. That is where the rub occurs. Boat manufacturers don't typically publish those diagrams. Besides, since your boat is a 1985 only prior owners know if they have butchered the wiring along the way so those diagrams may be useless. Boat wiring is very generic and there are a multitude of posts dealing with instrument panel wiring, trolling motors, bilge pumps, switches, etc. Use the SEARCH feature in this forum. Diagrams are usually included of the various systems.
