Boat seat hinge

So I have a 93 Monterey SCR 190. The rear bench seat hinge broke loose tonight. They had two small piano hinge types on it. It over hangs where it connects to the boat about 4 inches and the board it connects to is at an angle maybe 45 degrees. Should I replace with a piano hinge or an offset piano hinge? I can’t seem to picture how offset would work. With a regular piano hinge it doesn’t allow me to open the seat all the way. Any help is appreciated.

What shape are the wood bases of the seat in? Usually the plywood rots enough to let the hinges break loose.

Could you post a picture or three so we can see exactly what you are dealing with. Rotted wood can be changes to allow the same setup. Just need to see what you are working with.

I ended up using a t hinge worked good
