I want to re-do the interior of my boat. Mainly just the seats because they have tears and such. Can anyone suggest a site the sells cheap back to back seats? I find lots of them but most places want $200+ for each pair (i need 2 pairs) I dont really want to spend half of my boats value on just a couple seats. I was also considering just trying to re-upholster the seats i have, but i have no idea what type of fabric to use... Would just a regular vinyl work? I'm tempted just to buy some racing bucket seats and slap them in there cause i could get those quite a bit cheaper...

If you aren't concerned about color, just find a junked boat and pull the seats out of it (if the seats are in acceptable condition). You can also consider putting seat covers on your existing seats. You can get seat covers for $38 each here on iBoats.

I found the Wise brand premium seats on Ebay for my last boat.
2 lounge seats and the rear jump seats for about 300 new in the box.

I wish i would have saved that seller...he works at the plant that makes them and sells over stocked models on Ebay.

thanks for the help. I think i may just take them out and try to reupholster them. If that doesnt work then I'll just have to buy new ones :)

Search! Around here, some of the crafts stores sell marine vinyl. About 14 bucks a yard. Search the restoration forum there is a link to an on-line vinyl seller.

If you do reupholster them, do yourself a favor and buy stainless staples or even better, monel staples. Can be found in Home Depot. Monel is quite expensive but will last longer than you will own the boat. If you intend to keep her, Monel staples are the way to go.

Damn, I wish I saw those $38 seat covers in the beginning of the season when I got my boat, I would have tossed them on for the summer to cover the stains I can't get out of mine, there not ripped, just stained. I'm doing the deck & replacing the seats over the winter with buckets for the driver & shotgun position. OH well.....

I would be more concerned that the OP actually knows how to sew!
