Re: Boat Shipping

There are quite a few trucking companies that do this. Check local listings and online. The prices will vary depending on whether you want them to tow it with the trailer or load boat/trailer on the flatbed. Make sure who ever you use is properly licensed/insured. When it gets to it's final destination, make sure someone can look it over and verify it isn't damaged.

Re: Boat Shipping

I had tried many companies to have a boat and trailer put on a flat bed and shipped. Had no luck in getting an estimate. Anyone that would even call me back would ask if the trailer could be towed. They would require that the trailer be inspected by a mechanic before they would entertain towing it, on the boats trailer, to my location. Good Luck.

I'd try a craigslist posting in the "gigs" section fi you have difficulty finding a company through other avenues. However, I agree with Fireman 100 % -- LICENSED AND INSURED and nothing less!! Good luck.

uship.com put in a bid request. If someone bids you have like 36-48 hours to accept or decline. That way you can check out there feedback.like ebay. I had great luck shipping a 16' boat from Cali to NY.

I did the uship thing a week ago to test the waters, 1580-2600, the longer I waited, the bids came down. Looks like 1580 is the bottom line for now. Expensive compared to a car (800). Was curious if there was another method or website to use.

FWIW, I used uShip for the Carver and got a pretty good deal I think: 33' long, 12' wide, 13'6" high and ~13,000# for $3100, loaded trip was 500 miles and I did NOT have a trailer, and they had to be able to unload it to stands!

That was a good deal.

Re: Boat Shipping

When I was trying to figure out how to get the Scout from North Carolina to Canada I investigated various shippers. One guy was offering a significant discount because he had a truck down there coming back empty as he hadn't secured a return load yet.

Now, I don't know how you go about finding this info out generally - this guy just offered the option but I had to work to his timelines. In the end I ended up flying down and renting a Uhaul truck to tow it home myself as I wanted a sea trial, but the "empty truck" thing might be worth investigating.

Good luck on whatever option you choose.

Re: Boat Shipping

I purchased a 26' Maxum back in March and needed about a 100 mile transport from Sandusky, OH to the Detroit area on my trailer. This company was recommended to me and I ended up using them and was completely satisfied with their service. Their web site says they do long haul moves. I am not affiliated with them in any way.
