Hey everyone. Im looking at purchasing my forst bass boat this spring. I have it narrowed down to only 5 boats. I need some advice and thoughts on which to really aim for. I plan on doing a few tournaments. Also will be fishing a lot with my 13 year old son. Here is my narrowed down list... I have not seen any of these in person yet...:
2004 Skeeter SX180 90 HP Yamaha...$7500
2005 Bass Tracker PT 185 90HP Mercury...7500
2005 Nitro 640LX 60HP Merc...8500
2004 Skeeter 90HP Yamaha...9500 (this had a few upgrades from the previous skeeter i LISTED
2006 Nitro NX898 200HP Merc Optimax.. 13900. (I really like what I see on this one)

Sorry for the long list. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Boat shopping advice

Name means very little, how the boat was maintained makes all the difference in the world. Beast advice one can give is to hire a professional marine surveyor as they can pinpoint all the good and bad points of the watercraft and allow you a more informed decision. Many even offer a warranty of some sort. Looks can be decieving and a lot of bucks can be spent on what you don't see.

Re: Boat shopping advice

I guess what I was looking for was hearing from previous owners of these boats. Likes and dislikes so to speak...
