I am in the market for a boat. It will be my first one all on my own.

I am not a huge fisherman, but am considering getting back into the sport from my childhood.

Mostly the wife and I want to cruise around the lake or rivers do a little sking with friends.

Me and a friend might fish every once and a while. I am looking for a good intro boat to see if this is something I want to pursue.

I was thinking of Fish/Ski or a Bowrider.

Any suggestions? Make/Model? Inboard vs Outboard?

Also note i am on a limited budget $6K-$8K

Thanks in avance.

I'd say an 18-20 foot outboard bowrider with 100-150hp, would be a decent seaworthy, roomy, fairly lightweight, fairly economical, easy maintenance boat, for a beginner.

You might run out of cruising room if that is the main purpose of the boat. That is more of a fishing rig straight up. 17' can get pretty small quickly with a few people on board with skis and everything you'd be taking on a skiing trip.

would not work with more than 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 kids. know 2000 off it.
