Just a gripe/ observation about the economy. Two years ago we saw just about every boat under the sun at the local Fort Worth boat Show. Well this year was quite a disapointment. Only pontoons, CC Bayboats, bass boats, and wakeboard boats. The wakeboard boats were the high ticket items this year at $121,000. What a change!!! Two yrs ago we could walk through 50' and 60' yachts. I mean they were lined wall to wall with em back then. This year however there wasn't even a single overnighter. I swear! Not one boat with a bed or a single TV in the entire Convention Center. Seriously, Not even a small Cuddy Cabin! I asked about it and they said there will most likely be bigger boats at the Dallas international show but that alot of manufacturers have abandoned the bigger boats all together. What a let down. At least my 2yr old caught a catfish in the stock tank b4 we left and we did see a water skiing squirrel too.

Yeah, I heard the NY International Boat Show was a huge bust, too. It didn't help that the promoters changed the dates to 2 weeks before Christmas (what were they thinking??).
I'll be going to the Atlantic City show next month. My guess is it'll be lame, but I'm hoping for the best.

There were some large ones at the Atlanta boat show last year. A few 60 plus foot house boats. Some reasonable sail/tug style sleepaboards. A handful of <25 foot, I guess you call them pocket cruisers, with berths. But, considering I go to pore over the bass/center console boats, and listen to the seminars, so it bothered me not. This year, I am going mostly after center consoles, and going to do some eyeballing of bass boats as well.
