Boat Stalls???

When I Am At A Idleing Speed And I Throw The Lever To Half Or Full Tlrotle My Boat Stalls. I Can Only Ease Into The Gas So It Dose Not.very Hard For Some Of My Freinds To Get Up On Skis. Any Idias.thanks

The Boat Is 1977 Silverline With A 898 Mercuiser 305 Carbarated.new Cap,wires,rotor And Plugs Last Year.
